"There is so much young talent coming through Britain right now, I think we've moved away from the old guard a bit," said James Dempsey, winner of the $1.5k Pot Limit Hold'em event. "You're seeing some [British] players maturing and finding a more continued level of success."

The Brits have turned heads at the 2010 WSOP not only for their performances on the felt, but also for their fervent support of one another from the rail. Large crowds of beer drinking Englishman have turned out to the final tables featuring their countrymen.

"The rail support is massively helpful," said Dempsey. "It almost becomes a team game."

Having familiar faces on the rail during a final table can provide players with an added sense of confidence. Likewise, having an experienced group of poker pros sweating you can provide real strategic advantages.

"If things aren't going your way, they can keep you on an even keel," said London resident and two-time bracelet winner Praz Bansi. "They might have different perspectives and can say 'do this' or 'don't do that again.'"

"There's a lot of camaraderie amongst the British players," said Stuart Rutter, who has two 2010 WSOP cashes to his name. "Talking about hands with such a strong, close-knit group of players definitely helps."

"It's also nice to have people around who genuinely want you to do well," added Bansi. "Some people might tell you good luck because they have to, but you know with these guys they really want you to succeed."

With two more Brits vying for a third 2010 bracelet in today's $5k NLHE final table, the odds look good that more hardware will be shipped across the pond before this year's WSOP is finished.

"If we manage to take down 3 or 4 bracelets, the good feeling could snowball into something really special," said Rutter.

"We're going to keep looking to prove ourselves on the big stage and continue improving," a confident Bansi concluded.
